Physiology of dairy cows

Research
interests

We focus on studying the physiological responses of High yielding dairy cows to environmental and metabolic stress.

We investigate nutritional strategies to affect the physiology of dairy cows at the whole animal level, in specific organs, and at the molecular level.

Our lab specializes in integration of in vivo and in vitro experiments, using molecular, proteomic, and bioinformatic tools

Research topics

Endocannabinoid system

Immuno-metabolism

Physiology of stress

We investigate the response of cells, tissues and animals to environmental heat load, metabolic stress, and their interactions.

We pioneer in investigating modulations of the endocannabinoid system and its effects on immune and metabolic function in dairy cows
